Allergen Awareness. Sesame Seeds.

Today we are taking a look at the allergenic ingredient of Sesame seeds.

These are often used to garnish bread or bread products. Sesame oil can also be also used for cooking or in some dressings, so ensure it’s not in a dish you give to a sufferer of a Sesame allergy. Tahini is a sesame paste used in some Mediterranean dishes, including hummus.

Common foods that contain Sesame Seeds.

Sesame Seeds are often found in a wide variety of different foods including:

  • Sesame oil
  • Dressings
  • Tahin
  • Hummus
  • Halvah
